It’s another entry in the Claire and Aria greatest video hits collection! The Seattle and Portland cousins have a pretty good time when they’re able to get together. The adventures in this installment took place in the Portland metro area:

The documentary of our summer adventures in the Pacific Northwest is underway. The first trip was to Astoria in May. Over Father’s Day weekend in mid-June we took a quick drive to the Aurora Airport where the Collings Foundation brought planes from its World War II collection. I’ve always wanted to see a B-17 Flying Fortress up close. We got to do that and also see a B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell and P-51 Mustang. Aviation heaven!
For fun I went with an entirely different art and style direction on this video, using 1940s newsreels as inspiration — with a touch of modernization:

Last year I produced a mini documentary of our travels around the Pacific Northwest. The last installments got derailed by a crazy second half of summer, but the project was fun so I’m back for the sequel in 2017.
As I mentioned last year this has a lot to do with recording our daughter’s first trips to many of these places. Our first stop this summer was Astoria. You’ll see footage of visits to the Columbia River Maritime Museum and the Astoria Column:
