As I mentioned last month, I’m producing a documentary of summer travels with our toddler around the Pacific Northwest. The first trip was to Mount Hood over Memorial Day weekend. In mid-June we joined up with my parents for a long weekend in Lincoln City. Lots of sand and sunsets:

This summer I’m producing a mini documentary of our travels around the Pacific Northwest. Okay, let’s be honest; this is really about recording our daughter’s first trips to many of these places! There’s something special about seeing the familiar world through a two-year-old’s eyes. The first installment is finished. Aria gets her first look at Mount Hood, Government Camp and Timberline Lodge:
Our next trip is already scheduled. We’re off to the coast sometime in June!
Last Christmas Aria received a year membership at the Portland Children’s Museum. It’s a fun place to take her about once a month to play in a pretend grocery store, veterinarian office and construction dig site. She loves the waterworks, too. It’s a good thing they have waterproof smocks and air dryers:
There are plenty of other things to do at the museum, and the video highlights only some of the exhibits. It’s going to be a fun year!
